Hello everyone. My names Phil ( the Zita bit of my i.d. is the missis ).
I`m a coach painter and writer/decorator of traditional canal boats and the occasional vintage lorry ) working with two staff in our own dock (unless of course it`s a lorry ! ) in the West Midlands. Significantly I also have a paint company , Craftmaster, that`s gradually turning me into an office person. I`m fighting back - I`m still happiest painting. Not much to say just now - except that in such a traditional side of the industry I never use vynil - I really did just want to say hello!
Cheers
Phil
err ps - maybe I should delete the Zita bit - Phil Zita is a strange name for a Yorkshireman.

Not sure if we can accept Yorkshiremen here sorry.
Only joking, welcome to the site even if you are from the wrong side of the pennines!
Hey Phil , welcome along- Hows the paint range coming along?
Welcom Phil from another yorkshireman

Sorry I should be nice really, at least your Northerners.
You know, I might be getting further into trouble here so I'll shut up!
By the way Phil heard some pretty good reports about your paint, tell us more.

Hi Phil.
Pleased to meet you.
I saw Tim Bird learning narrowboat roses at the Tickle, and became intrigued.
Mine still look like ****, but I did get a firsthand lesson from Allen (I forget his last name but he was a great fellow)
and Terry Colley got me the Roses & Castles book at the Dixie meet.
It's such a neat thing to do.
I'd love to see some pix of your work.

Phil & Zita Welcome to your 2nd home, told you this place was buzzing with fine time sign painting folk - Jill think your roses look something else, sorta got some sort of fix to them, cant put my finger on it. Brilliant work.

That's cuz they are Yankee Roses.
:)
Remember I only painted the wonky ones on the top.
Tim and Allen did the others.
(the good looking ones)

Thanks for the welcome . I`ve even managed to translate the Lancashire ones.Actually I think we should bury the hatchet - hands across the Pennines as it were - after all me dad was a missionary in Wigan for years and I`ve still got his phrase book somewhere.................
I`d be happy to put some images on but I really am a disaster with computers. I`ll get my mate to do it on Friday - he is able to communicate with the damn things.Otherwise the websites ( there`s a link between them ) have got plenty of pictures.
I don`t know wether or not it`s allowable to go on about our paint range here - so suffice to say it`s going well and I hope you`ll all give it a try one day.
Like the colonial roses - specially the "knobstick" ones - those are the ones that look more like actual flowers - why "knobstick" ? It`s a long story and of interest only to rabid canal persons I should think.
Cheers
Phil
Jill, would that have been Alan Brindle who does the fairground work.

Jill, they're lovely pieces what ever ammount of them you did, you should be proud of them.
Phil, I'm only messing, I dislike Wiganners more than Youkshiremen! Ha ha ha no seriously, I'm only jibing you. No harm meant.
I will go and take a look at your site now but I look forward to seeing your pics on the board.
