Hi you's two's,
Well here we are, hows business Wayne ?? hope your busy mate, winter is on its way and the cold wind sure doesn't help us poor signwriters working outside, I remember when I was an apprentice ( many many years ago !! ) we were working outside and I swear that the dew drop on my poor nose froze sollid, had to visit a nearby cafe for a warm and thaw out, oh the good old days !!
Paul, where in south Yorkshire is tha at ?? The next time I'm down your way I'll pop in for a brew ?? hows business with you ??
We are busy ( honest !! ha ha !! ) all away work though, mainly down south in the London area, got some good jobs booked in until Christmas and a couple for the beginning of next year, fingers crossed we can keep the flow coming.
Brian.
www.brianthebrushuk.com
Hey Brian I'm in Mexborough, kettles always on at our house.
His Tea is drinkable Brian too. (unlike mine).. Yes -Busy down ere in the south,
the short days and the wet weather make this job a bit harder...but there's plenty to do in the workshop when its wet...getting stuff to dry however is more of a challenge.

.. while we all wait for Sentinals kettle to boil.
I've been scanning throu old copies of SignCraft, for something-
I came across this from the letters page- It made me laugh at the time, and I can't resist sharing it with you now .
"Its all in a days Work" By Lloyd Nightingale.
A friend of mine had the task of repainting a sign installed above the windows on the second floor of a building.
After thinking it over, he decided to remove the sign by standing on a narrow ledge, and letting the sign down onto the ledge, one end at a time.
From there he climbed back throu the window and pulled the sign in after him.
At this point however, the window sill acted as a fulcrum, andthe weight of the long sign hanging out of the window, pinned his friend between the sign and the ceiling of the room."
- If the mental picture was'nt enough..there was a lovely Bob parsons cartoon that went with the story .

Hi guys,
How we all doing this week ?
I went all the way to Milton Keynes yesterday ( 6 hours round trip ) to sort a job out that the architect said was mine to do and when we had a site meeting he refused to pay me a deposit and changed the goal posts on the project so for the first time in 40 years of being in business I up and walked out of the meeting. told him to stick the job, so he now needs to find another guy who will do the job ( with no deposit and 60 days before payment !! yeh right !! ) they take the **** !!
This was the first time I have ever been on a building site where they insisted it was a 'gloves site' and I was forced to wear a pair of rubber gloves just to enter the site to survey the job !! H&S gone f***ing mad !! Then he asked if I had a certificate to put my own scaffolding up ?? whats that all about ?? RANT OVER !!
Better go for a couple of beers to calm down now,
catch ya all later,
Brian.
www.brianthebrushuk.com
Sadly Brian thats happening all too often these days, think I would have done the same.
Was it a marigold Factory Brian?.. You'd look great up scaffold in Rubber gloves!
.
.
.But less of that sort of talk.. we're keeping sex out of this one !
.
.
.Had a smelly week.. spent some days in a Pub- lettering silly things on the walls and beams, while the contractors stained and sealed a brand new wooden floor beneath my ladders...
I can still smell it .. in my nose- boots and van,
no rubber gloves thou. :)
