5ft high x 3ft wide their abouts Wayne, did it on foamex! big mistake! its real floppy, paint scratched off, even thoe i keyed it, hate the stuff, great fot vinyl, but spose thats what they made it for, so best place for it- on my shop wall inside reception, bit of white foulage round the top and lit with black light, when i get round to it of cource- waffle waffle.. ha!

happy christmas to you to Milo
Pete- What did you do to the foam before you painted it?
I've had good results for indoor stuff -a good scuff up with a fine wet and dry- and then a couple of coats of acrylic primer/undercoat ( waterbased stuff).
It seems to hang on in there pretty well, and fills the raw edges of the foam so they gloss up well.

Is that right Wayne? how does it fair up outside? does is scratch off or does it bond like it does to wood? then again i suppose if youa have to prime it and gloss it you might as well use wood wich is sometimes lighter & cheaper and suits what we do best. just be good when you need a already prepped white back ground, ive got some one shot vinyl primmer (clear) that ive never used, maybe that will do the trick, shame we cant get mdo over here. recently answered a post from James on signpig, apparently you can use dekka to paint vinyl and that doesnt come of iether, so i bet you can paint foamex with that too, only thing is it doesnt letter to well, what do you think Wayne?- Guys?
Why don't you try alupanel or like, it's already got a coloured surface and is light and rigded.
We don't use foamex anymore, if we use plastic its foamex top or foamalux ultra.I'm pretty sure paint sticks to that ok because of its shinny surface. Not had any trouble with it coming off. then again i'm painting with a brush and not putting a light coat on with an airbrush, may need to seal it after.

The small ammount of playing with an airbrush I have done is using Createx paints. They stick to foam and vinyl really ell - I'm really impressed.
- i have used foam with acrylic Primer-U/C outside when Ive been really really pushed for a job- but don't know how it holds up long term.
The oneshot primers good ( and drys glossy)- foam roller it on and lay off with a clean soft brush)
I used a fair bit of Di-bond now ( for "instant" white jobs) where I need it today- but I dont really like the look of it .
Deka was ok ( water based sign enamel-) but no longer available.
Everybody raved about it and it did stick to foam like wazzname to a blanket - But on PVC banners and foam it never seemed to dry throughly- and on banners that maybe got rolled up after use- it used to stick together.
I use screen inks for plastics and banners now- instantly dry and stable.
-good on pvc coated magnetic sheet too!
