View Full Version : Bananas
Its been my limited experience that every signpainter I meet, -eats a lot of Bananas.- I myself- (although it might be my Ape heritage)- have a couple during the day, and always have a bunch in the shop somewhere.
Is it just the convienience? (clever little energy food -convienetly packaged for those painty hands)
Or does it go deeper?
colour? design?-shape?-Taste?-
or does it contain some vital creative vitamin ????
Whatcha reckon?..are you all banana-ers?...or is it just me...:)

No Bananas here. Large quantities of Caffeine and Nicotine though. It usually helps to offset the sleep deprivation when Thursday and Friday roll around.
First time anyone has mentioned bananas though. It might be worth the research though. It also might be the key to better sign writing. Like the the Rosetta Stone if you will.
Good for the concentration i believe. And thats something we all need in this trade.
must admitt the site of a banana a hunger senser goes off ... but then again I'm a lots of fruit and vegie eater, and less then a pound of meat a day ...
smoke or drink very little.
likes some excercise before lettering a sign to me seems more important to good feelings in doing the job on hand
signwriters live good

They are a good source of magnesium, potassium, vitamin C, B6 and fiber. One every morning, if I haven't run out. :)

Absolutely fantastic I say.. a mars bar (snickers bar) that grows on a tree all in its very own special wrapper, would be intresting to see some of you guys do a wrapper for one with the branding- pen & ink scanned or computer, lets see them banana wrappers lol

Haha, do these guys ripen in the wrapper like their natural counterparts? So you are going to use the new chameleon paper? That stuff that turns colors and gets spots on it with age?

I love them "Nanners" (in my best southern accent)
My weakness is roasted peanuts in the shell.
spread raw peanuts on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
No salt or oil. great quick treat!

Oh no, you got Peanuts on Wayne's Nanners. Next we'll see a lable for the new, "Mark's Nanner-Nut Cups."
I'll give that peanut roastin' a try, Mark. Thanks

The Great Banana Post "High-Jack!
2.4 billion pounds of peanuts are consumed in the United States each year. About 50% is consumed as peanut butter.
Hey Mark,
These might seem like a silly questions, but are you roasting the peanuts in the shell and do you buy them raw in the shell? The only peanuts I can find in the shell are already roasted.
Perhaps you have better sources where you are; maybe a heath-food store would have them here. Hey, I could start a peanut garden. :)

Oh yea, they goooooooood! Just like you said Mark. I gotta work out the banana combination, it just sounds good. A fresh banana, split down the middle with fresh baked peanuts spread through the middle. We have to have a culinary artist among us. What else should I add? No salt, no sugar. Why do fried green tomaters keep coming to mind. . . . Probably cause it's late.
Thanks again, Mark.

growing up..a favourite family salad....
cut bananas in half lengthways, then in half crossways...lay them out on a bed of chopped iceberg lettuce...put a blob of peanut butter* on each pie`ce, with another blob of mayonnaise on that.... eat!!
*i use free range crunchy peanut butter nowadays...
btw...i have this for breakfast sometimes, too, just hold the lettuce!

A friend of mine suggested this:
Toast 2 pieces of bread, butter both, slice up the banana and layout on first piece of bread, sprinkle on the fresh peanuts, pour on some honey to hold it all together, add the second slice of bread. Sweet Peanana Sandwich. Eat
