View Full Version : fascia
Hi guys.
Thought it was time you saw some of our work.
Hand painted in coach enamel background, gold leaf name outlined and shaded, rest of copy hand written, picture painted by my very talented father who does not want to sit at home even at the tender age of 77.
Hope you like,
will post more pics but most will be vinyl jobs i'm afraid.

Very nice to see a bit of Gold on the high street!
That pictorial is a stunner!- Is your father a writer too then?

Thats fantastic quality stuff Milo, how come you gone into dooing vinyl, when you can produce work like that, their realy isnt any substitute for proper real painted stuff and the more you do it, the quicker it gets, im dooing a 90% cover on a belingo at the mo, was going to put vinyl second copy on it, then i thought naa thats a drag ( it is for a gay bar- drag artists on it ) so the lots got painted will post some picks iether half done, or finished or both on here, again outstanding work!
Yes Wayne, He Started writing for the forshore department, Southend-on-Sea, Worked on the Peir Hand painting the trains 60 plus years ago as a painter and when he was writing got a penny an hour more, yes thats right 1 old penny that is. When he went and ask for a bit more he was told if he thought he was worth more to go find it. So to there dismay he did, Just over 45yrs ago just after I was born.
He earned just over £900 in he's first year. He was on £16 a week when employed and £18 on he's own. Struggled for the first year and had no money for christmas but never looked back.
He was writing a Fascia for £1 2s 6d and painting and writing a fascia for £2. How times have changed...
He tort my uncle who now has his own business, Me, and my son has now been with us for a year.
Pete,
It's getting people to have traditional stuff, we try to push it, to suit ourselves, but we would have lost a lot of our old customers if we had not moved on. especially on vehicles, salesmen seem to push the vinyls.
Least we can turn our hand to it if needed.
Had me brushes out today doing honours boards so not giving up the brush.
