View Full Version : Having trouble logging in???
To follow on from Pete's heads up about the RED HAT login error alot of us are getting...In the mean time I'm finding this helps....
Navigate to the site (BEFORE you log in)..(or delete the Signoholic cookie from your browser)..Then log in
.this gives you the bogus white redhat error page....
then use your browser history and go back to the page you were on before you logged in BUT YOU WILL BE LOGGED IN and can post ect as normal.
I know its long-winded folks but every little helps eh??

Hi Wayne,
I've found two other very similar ways in. Both ways bypass the phony page in a similar back track method. I'm just guessing -- knowing this might help narrow down the location of the problem in the script?
Also dave- I discovered that all the mailed links ( to watched posts) click throu fine with me logged in already....if I go straight to the my own bookmark ..I'm shown as not logged in ..or a blank page...or then the redhat page.....Hope this helps

Another working for me is, after I get the error page, backspace over everything but http://www.signoholics.com/ of the URL showing in the navigation bar, then type index.php to replace all the gobbledegook, and press enter. Back in, but this time logged in. I'm way far from being one that understands, in depth, all of this code and scripting, but can't imagine knowing what does work wouldn't help.
I know even less than that Dave- but as you say..I hope this will mean something to the clever-crowd who are sorting this one

Too bad no one can read this unless they are logged in. Perhaps the work arounds need to be moved so others trying to access the board can use them to get in. Might help a bit if they are having trouble making through the smoke screen. Is it possible that only the Admin and Moderators are having the trouble?
To list another method that works, navigate to a section that needs membership login and click a link to view a post. This will bring up the login screen -- from there log in and you're in, then navigate to where you want to be.
Yes Dave- I was thinking along similar lines..(too Quiet round here lately)
..or maybe a blanket email to all the members??
Hi Guys, At last, I've been trying to log in for weeks.
even Sent you and Pete a PM on signpig Wayne. Did you not get it.
Only by luck i think i'm on now.
Have i missed the posting of the panels or is it still ongoing.
Will look at the rest of the site now.
Cheers Ian
Hi Ian- well at least were still alive eh?
..It seems theres been some trouble in these ere Hills!- but it looks like things are rolling again.
Don't think we missed the panel swap ( did we?)..if we did mate- You'll have to swap with me ( bad luck eh?)
Good to see ya round
( never got any PM mate??)
Thanks for the reply Wayne. At least i've not been banned to the darkest depths of cibrespace.
Seen some of your work and a panel from you would have pride of place
on our workshop wall. Not sure you'd think the same about mine.
Ian
