Greetings fellow signoholics! Mine is the usual sad story of a young man driven wayward be my addiction to the 'Craft'. Oh, it all started innocently enough. A few brushes, just plain one-color block lettering now and again. But over the years the urge to try something a little different got a hold. The temptation to shade, blend, enhance and 'snazz-up' became overwhelming! Now I'm a full blown addict. Its great that I can finally own up to this terrible affliction and chat with the rest of you 'men of letters'.

Making a 3D cardboard Tiki head for a friends party! You know the kinda thing - Easter Island style... If it looks any good I'll post some pictures.

Cheers Wayne! Likewise my friend, I'm soooo looking forward to seeing more creative stuff this side of the pond. Began Signwriting in the mid 70's when the late-great Ed Roth was head signmaker at Knottsberry Farm (an american theme park). If you're not into hotrods and kustoms (why not?) you might not know the name but he was/is a huge inspiration to me. Hey, Maybe we could start a 'Hall of Fame' kinda thing on this site to pay hommage to our hero's well known or otherwise! What'dya recon?

Welcome to Signoholics Ben, I know the names.......Great Idea that, the hall of fame, my grandfather was a sign painter, left us in 85. I owe a lot of my style from a guy called Steves Signs & Designs, he used to be regular contributor to a mag called Street Machine. Was shocked to find out he left us with a cycling accident. Their are many more too. The Hall of Fame will be live today, any Links Welcome & respect to all those that have left us with beautiful remembrances world wide.

PS Ben I have sent you a PM

Hey Pete! I remember Steve's work from many years ago. The man was way ahead of his time this side of the pond. I was blown away at the pistriping on John Balicchino's chopped Viva van which I believe was steve's work? I think maybe your Grandfather and Steve would be fitting first inductees into the 'Hall'

Remember the Baldy van and saw it at Manchester in the 70'sj its just recently been restored back to its former glory and re-striped by Paul "tootall" Dorrington. The original striping was done by Ed Wimble whos work was always in the old custom car and hot rod mags. Theres a pic of the back doos on pinhead lounge on Pauls page.

Cheers paul, I stand corrected. Hey, Ed Wimble another very talented signwriter/striper/artist/designer. Only ever spoke to Ed on the phone but seemed like a dam nice fella. Will check out the 'liners Lounge' Seems like there are a few rod/kustom fans on this site anyone driving/building a rod or custom?

Not taking anything away from Steve he did some wild stuff. ED Wimble built some realy weird cars do you remember the wolfrace car with twin rover V8's? he also had a fondness for C cabs. I've had the hot rods and a few customs and still drive a Dodge day van as a shop truck but ride Harleys now, should have gone back to bikes years ago.
