Just finished this today.
For once the firemen listened to me and we went with something more interesting than Hellvetica.
I had to match existing varnish shades on the fluer-de-lis. That was fun!
I did not do the striping on this.
It's a 1991 American LaFrance.
I did the blue drop shadow because all their other trucks are blue & gold.
I think the SignGold looks a bit cheesy, but I am not good enough for close-up-seen gilding yet.
Next I have to gild the two 12"x96" ladder signs, and I will do that by hand since they are far enough up that nobody will see my holidays.
It was a very enjoyable day.
It was also cool for me because this is from my original neighborhood, and my dad was a charter member in the early 60s.
