My neatsfoot oil went cloudy and thick. It was more like a gloopy transmission fluid than oil and it seemed to have curdled. I brought it home and after a few days it seems to have pretty much gone back to normal.
Anyone any ideas why?
What are you using that for Chunk?- Don't put it in your brushes buddy

I was using it for my brushes but since it went funny, I won't touch it. Using axel grease for now.

Could do but I have axel grease here now - just wondered why the Neatsfoot went cloudy though.
I used it once mate- and it sets hard in your brushes- HORRIBLE STUFF to clean out then- ordinary HM grease is fine.
Why'd it go cloudy?..Did you store it somewhere cold?..or hot?- sounds like ti emulsified there for a bit.
Chuck it away anyway

Used neatsfoot oil once. and only once!, The varmits the live in my shop attic had the bristles for a midnite snack. Then , for years, I went to non detergent motor oil. Now I don't oil them at all. I clean really well in multiple mineral spirits baths and spin dry. The stubborn ones get a soak in the ultrasonic cleaner. Thanks Joey.

It was very cold - that'll be it. I'll start back on the grease again.
