This is a good example of a very simple, classic carved sign in the New England style. I put it up last friday in a snowstorm... and yes, they DO need a new post, but they like the old one. :shock:

Nice one Cam....I'm sure that post was an original board off the Mayflower being in New England.....The sign is perfectly level, but the building sure is crooked!

Mike, the post is from the tree where the Indians drank their first salve, :D given to them by English settlers..... about an hour later they sold the whole state of Michigan for two copper pots, a broken musket, a London police whistle and six more barrels of salve. :D :shock: The fact that neither the white people or the Indians had ever been to, or heard of, Michigan is entirely beside the point. :? Don't tell Gerathy.

Seriously, though, the house is one of the oldest in the area, built in 17something. Check out the granite steps!
