Mum and Dad in law are having their anniversary toimorrow so I threw this together for them. Well actually it took ages and made me squint a lot but there you go!
Some was stencilled and some freehand.
The Gold isn't as good as I wanted but part of that is becasue I used loose leaf due to that being all I had left. I'm going to give it a couple of days to settle and dry up then I may redo the gold with some transfer after a bit of a rub over with cotton wool.
Looks the BeeezKneez to me fella and a vastly-vast improvement in your brushwork.
They( and you) ought ot be chuffed with that!

I am getting there with the brushes but like I say, I used the mask cop out on this one for ease and speed as it was a pressie, I wnted it just right. The floral green bits and black is free hand, the red stencil. The gold is 23 3/4 loose leaf (all I had left) and the outline is mask outside, free hand inside.
The 'Wilkinson Street' is Mask but then touched up by hand when I got gold all over it!

Just caught a glimpse of the Panel in the corner of my eye and that font looks a bit 'Godfather'ish! Ahh well, maybe they'll like the Horses head I got them too. :D

Re did the gold tonight and then had to retouch the black outline. Looks much better.
Mum in Law cried when i gave it to her and didn't want me to do anything more to it but when I explained the back needed varnishing or it'd fall to bits in a few months, she let me take it back. All being well, they will have it back tomorrow and I'll post a pic of it in place.
Two people are to thank for me doing this panel. Firstly Paul P. He gave me some good advice at the last meet we went to and it all came in useful on this.
Mainly though, it's to Wayne. He gave me two whole days tuition a while back and asked nothing for it. He put me up in his home and even took me out for a pint. The help he gave me is priceless and I wouldn't have been holding a brush if it weren't for him inspiring me in the first place. So thank you Wayne. Thank you for the time you gave, for your wisdom and most of all for being patient enough to wait for me to get my finger out and put the good advice to work.

In the words of the Late Great Aussie John "Pay it forward"
Always happy to do that for those who will listen.
Heres the latest "apprentice- 11 year old Dan- Son of my landlord- Most of this was his own work-He's mustard keen and has taken a load of gear to school with him today for "show and tell"
Many more like him and hand lettering WILL have a future!

Wow, he's doing well! Great Job Wayne. The craft definately needs to be continued. It would be a shame for it to die a slow death. Keep up the good work.

Chunkie the craft will never die, Signoholics was created for that reason only, to introduce youngsters & new blood to support keepers of the craft continuing the art form. Spread the word Chunk's....
