I went over to Wrights today (somewhere I've been meaning to go for the last year or so!) and when I eventually found it, I was sort of over whelmed by the sheer ammount of stock they have there. The showroom isn't that big but looking through to the back, there were shelves upon shelves of one shot and sieze!

I got some LeFranc 3 hour, one shot, leaf and a size 0 sable for my panel so watch out for the ridiculous effort I make! (SOrry to whoever ends up with mine!)

Anyhow, I also got a Mack 'The virus' so I could see if it'd help me with my striping. I just can't get on with the sword liner.

Just had a quick go and although it's still a bit stiff, I've found it much easier to work with! Does anyone else prefer this style of brush (like a swirly Q) over the liners? I know Paul P uses one sometimes.

Chunkie- Wrights have just started to stock those- Pretty cool brushes but not as soft as the Sables your used to. ( more springy)

But..the Important question...Did you see the Gold beating!>??

No mate - i didn't know you could watch. Will have to go back if you can watch that!

Spoke to Clive himself briefly just to say Hi and I asked him for directions on the phone.

I did notice the virus was a little stiffer than the sables - the size 0 sable is a breeze to work with (within my limited hand fisted talent) - very impressed with that. I just assumed it was because the Virus was a new brush. Is there anything out there with a similar set up of size etc that is softer?

The brush I used for the the striping on the swap panel is an old rigger that I had made by Mick Venus of Handovers. I simply asked him for a 2112 range no1 sable with extra length hair out. I also use the Jenson swirly but find it a little stiff still, it needs more work. I've been going to try the Virus but not got one yet. But you will find that you will always go back to the brush your comfortable with

If you want a play with this virus, you are more than welcome before you buy one Paul. I have a couple of weeks where I am hectic but then I plan on coming over to see you. I'll bring what I have with me.

CLive was at the Scottish Meet, "Tickle in the Trossachs" last MAy hosted by Stewart McLaren and he was GREAT! A real fun guy, and very personable.....I will be buying some goodies from that guy!

Clive, let's get you here as a sponsor and get selling some goodies over here in the states! It's where I get MY Gold!!
